What our visitors say about Ermintrude Cottage:
The smiles left on faces stayed there!
Kevin, Kate and Stan the Spaniel stayed at Ermintrude Cottage for 7 nights in October 2018
The cottage offers so much more than others we have stayed in, in terms of space, and facilities. The welcome hamper was a very pleasant surprise, and the smiles left on faces stayed there throughout the duration of our time at Ermintrude Cottage.
Good pub food is barely a walk away, you’re right on the doorstep of the countryside, and there’s a pleasant walk to Mevagissey from Heligan that we would definitely recommend.
Jeremy was a very pleasant host, on hand if needed, but equally, as we tried to escape from it all for a few days, the cottage offers seclusion and privacy. The mattress on the super king sized bed was a real highlight at the end of a busy day. Hoping to return sometime soon.
Beautiful quiet spot with only a short walk to a great pub!
Rebecca from Reading stayed at Ermintrude Cottage for 7 nights in April 2018
We stayed at Ermintrude Cottage at the end of April. There was plenty of room for my husband and I and our dog. The enclosed garden is a winner for dog owners.
The cottage is really lovely with a nice big kitchen and huge king size bed. My husband is tall so cottages are usually a hazard for him but we had no problem here!
Jeremy met us on arrival with fresh bread, brownies and a basket of essentials. We were then left to explore our home for the week. The Crown pub is 90 seconds walk (we timed it!) and is very friendly and serves up some great pub classics. We ate several times there in our week.
St.Ewe is a lovely quiet village. Very small and close to Heligan, Mevagissey and Pentewan. We would thoroughly recommend Ermintrude cottage, we will certainly be back!
Malcolm from Southampton stayed at Ermintrude Cottage for 7 nights in June 2017
Ermintrude Cottage is ideally located for a relaxing holiday retreat, yet within 30 minutes drive or less of many wonderful, secluded beaches and family attractions. The Cottage is fully equipped with all mod cons to leave you wanting for nothing and the provision of a ‘welcome basket’ with local produce adds that little extra homely touch to your visit. With the driveway gates closed, the garden becomes a secure area to allow your dog to roam free without fear of it wandering off down the lanes. Although I do recommend venturing down the lane to the next village of Polmassick for the Vineyard which has free wine tasting and cream teas.
The Roseland Peninsula has some lovely coastal walks and the owners have put together a very useful dossier with maps highlighting some of the very best. Gorran Haven to Dodman Point was my favourite, which included a toe paddle in the cool waters on the secluded Vault Beach – simply idyllic.
If you prefer to venture further afield I would recommend a trip to Falmouth via the passenger ferry from St Mawes. A great way to spend the day exploring without the hassle of driving everywhere.
Would I return – an easy ‘Yes’. Would I recommend Ermintrude Cottage – ‘Absolutely’.
